Lightweight materials and manufacturing technologies are revolutionizing the modern industrial landscape, driving breakthroughs in materials science, advanced processing, and high-tech equipment. These innovations serve not only as a backbone of the global economy but also as vital catalysts for sustainability and progress. As the world faces an urgent need for energy efficiency and carbon reduction—particularly in sectors such as transportation, energy generation, and consumer electronics—the advancement of lightweight materials and their manufacturing processes has emerged as both a critical strategy and a shared global mission.


To foster international collaboration, inspire the exchange of pioneering research, and accelerate innovation in this vital domain, we are excited to announce the 5th International Conference on Lightweight Materials and Manufacture (LMM). The event will be held in Hong Kong from 6th to 9th November 2026, jointly hosted by The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, the AVIC Manufacturing Technology Institute, and Imperial College London. We aim to strengthen the exchange of ideas among experts and scholars, promote the advancement of lightweight structures and manufacturing technologies, and contribute to global social and environmental development.

We sincerely invite academics, engineers, and researchers in related fields to participate in this conference.

The International Journal of Lightweight Materials and Manufacture (IJLMM) serves as the sole supporting media of the 2026 LMM Conference.

IJLMM, founded by the AVIC Manufacturing Technology Institute, is an international academic journal focusing on the research achievements and development trends of global lightweight materials and lightweight manufacturing technologies and broadcasting the scientific research achievement in the related fields.

ILMM in currently included by ESCI (IF=6.9), EI, Scopus (CiteScore 11.7) and DOAJ and has been selected for the "High-Starting New Journal Project" of the second phase of the "Excellence Action Plan of China Scientific, Technical and Medical (STM) Journals" in 2025.
